Going on a cruise? Well, the planning begins much ahead of the holiday. Here are a couple of tips to remember when packing for your trip:
Pack Activity-Appropriate Clothing and Shoes
You would need to look at the excursions that you have been booked, day-wise for you to understand the right clothing and shoes
Formal Attire
Pack at least one set of formal clothes and accessories for a formal event during the cruise. It should be an elegant dress for ladies and a two-piece suit with ties for gentlemen.
Bathing Suits and Cover-Ups
Don’t forget the bathing suits, at least two in number! And don’t forget a bathing suit cover-up, sundresses T-shirts and shorts.
Flip Flops and Close-Toed Shoes
Wearing flip flops or casual shoes in casual restaurants is fine, but shorts, tank tops, and flip flops are NOT allowed in most dining rooms. A pair of close-toed shoes are needed for shore excursions.
Pack a Backpack
A backpack is handy when you want to do a little shopping at the cruise port. It’s much easier to throw everything you purchase into a bag than to struggle to carry around several shopping bags.
Bring Sunscreen and After-Sun Lotion
A bottle of sunscreen/sunblock is necessary. Also, pack a bottle of after-sun soothing gel, just in case you get sunburned. Don’t forget to pack a sun hat for children.
Pack Your Own Toiletries
Always pack your own shampoo, conditioner, and hair care products. Don’t forget to bring along a razor and some shaving cream if you’re going on a longer cruise!
Medications
A small first aid-style kit full of common medications like pain relievers, upset stomach medication, and motion sickness medication is required.
Bring a Portable Backup Battery Charger
Use your phone to take a lot of photos while cruising, but to prevent the battery to die fairly quickly, carry a portable backup charger.
Pack an Underwater Camera
When planning to go snorkeling, scuba diving, or to a water park, pack a waterproof camera. It’s so much fun to be able to take photos not only underwater, but just while you’re on the beach or splashing in the waves! You may also purchase a waterproof phone case or a waterproof camera bag.
